BimaSahaiHow it works

How it works

A policy document, read back to you in ordinary words.

Health policies are written to be precise, not to be read. BimaSahai takes what an insurer has already published about a plan and says the same thing in the language people actually use — and shows you where each answer came from, so you can check it yourself.

Three steps

  1. 01

    Find your plan

Pick the insurer, then the plan. Each plan has its own page, built from that plan’s own document set — never from a general idea of how health insurance works.

  2. 02

    Read the common questions

The questions people actually ask — waiting periods, room limits, what the first month covers — answered in a few plain sentences. Every one carries a link to the exact page it was drawn from.

  3. 03

    Ask about your own case

If your situation is not covered by the standing questions, ask it in your own words. You sign in at that point — with a link sent to your email, no password — because the answer is yours.

Where the answers come from

Insurers publish the full wording of every plan: the policy clauses, the prospectus, the brochure. Those documents are the only thing BimaSahai reads. Answers are built from the text of the plan you are looking at, and each one links to the page on the insurer’s own website where that text sits.

Nothing is written from memory or from what a similar plan usually does. Where a document does not say something, the answer says so rather than filling the gap.

What BimaSahai will not do

  • Recommend a policyIt explains plans you have already chosen or are already considering. It will not rank them or tell you which to buy.
  • Second-guess anyoneNot your agent, not your insurer, not a decision already made. It describes what the document says and leaves the judgement to you.
  • Replace your policy scheduleThe published document sets out the plan. Your own certificate sets out your cover amount, your dates and your endorsements. Where the two differ, yours is the one that counts.
  • Answer what the document cannotSome questions turn on a detail only you have — your cover amount, your start date, what a doctor wrote. When that happens, the answer explains everything the document does settle first, and then asks you for the missing piece at the end.
